2nd in Xmas
December 26th 2001 (HMG) - [Put online January 1st 2002]
On the 2nd Day of Christmas (which is a public holiday in Iceland), I woke up "bright and early" at 10:00am... erm... actually it was pitch-dark outside and I was utterly tired since we'd gone to bed at 4am the night before. The reason for my "bright-and-earliness" was to drive all the way to the other side of Reykjavík, pick up my three brothers, and then drive all the way to "my" side of Reykjavík again to see the Fellowship of the Ring at noon in a good cinema, on it's opening day in Iceland. Second time for me but the first time for them. Needless to say we all enjoyed it... and I'm thinking I should check it out again in the US too see it without subtitles (yes, any excuse will do!) :)
After the movie, we went straight to my mother's brother's house, where he and his wife had invited his parents and siblings and Co. to a Christamas Cake-Party.
The hosts, Arnar and Magnea in their living room. Their first born, a boy
named Eyþór Arnarsson, is now 6 months old.
After we had completely overdosed on cakes, it was time to look through
the family photos to follow the first few months of Eyþór's life.
Here we have Arnljótur (my granddad) playing with the
family's most recent addition, Eyþór.
My brothers, Nökkvi and Pétur also looked after Eyþór.
Arnar is a computer geek and invited Finnur to try out the new "Wolfenstein" game.
Finnur didn't mind that at all!... :)
While we were inside enjoying ourselves, this is what what happening outside...
More snow coming down! :)
