Time Passes
December 20th 2001 (HMG) - [Put online December 20th 2001]
Today we got a call from the US Embassy asking us to please come down to straighten something out. For some reason they were convinced that J2 Visa holders (like Finnur) could not work in the US, so they were surprised to see on his visa application that he intended to work in the US (which he has been doing lately - btw). We therefore drove downtown, double quick, and when we got there at 11am, we presented the guy with Finnur's current "Employment Authorization" card from the INS. The guy said "Interesting..." and went and conferred with a colleague before coming back to tell us that everything was in order and that the visas would be ready after 2pm tomorrow! Funny to have to drive all the way down there to tell them how their own rules work!! :)
Since I had a dentist appointment almost next door at 11:30am, Finnur got to drive me there and wait for me...

Fortunately I didn't have any cavities, but I was told to floss more... grumble, grumble...
Then we drove back to Mosfellsbær, where Finnur went straight to bed since he's got
a pretty bad cold - and I went and did this webpage! :)
